Actor Dinesh, who will be seen playing a blind character in forthcoming Tamil romantic-drama "Cuckoo", describes it as the most challenging role of his career.
"Cuckoo", directed by debutante Raja Murugan, is the love story of two blind characters.
"It was the most challenging role of my career. I may have done only a few films so far, but I never worked so hard for any of the roles. Although I attended a workshop for the blind to prepare for the role, I also spent months observing real blind folks closely," Dinesh said.
"I spent many evenings watching blind people at the bus stops and railway stations, studied their mannerism and every smallest detail that I could use to play my character. It took me nearly two weeks to walk like a blind person, so you could imagine the time and effort that has gone into the character," he added.
Jointly produced by Fox Star Studios and The Next Big Film Productions, "Cuckoo" releases March 21.
Dinesh says the film has brought out the best in him.
"I have given 200 percent to my role. The films I have done so far expected me to only act well, but 'Cuckoo' was one film where I had to get under the skin of the character. I feel it has extracted the best out of me. The audience will be the best judge of it," he said.
