Actress Vindhya who is waiting for the release of her debut movie Manada Mareyali, attempts suicide by taking sleeping pills. Vindhya consumed more than 70 sleeping pills at her house in Agrahara Dasarahalli near Vijaynagar on Magadi Road and is now undergoing treatment at the ICU in Bowring Hospital. Police informed that she is in critical condition. Vindhya's parents Rangaswamy, Nademma lodged complaint to police that their daughter attempted suicide unable to tolerate her friend and assistant director Manjunath's harassments.
Vindhya and Manjunath met in the shooting of Manedamarayalli. This blossomed into love but Vindhya cut off her relationship after hating Manjunath's behavior. From then on he used to harass her and even on Tuesday morning 9am when she got a call, she left crying into her room. Later she fell sick consuming diabetic tablets. Family members adjudged her to near by hospital and later on the advice of doctors shifted to Boarding hospital. Police say the actress is in coma and everything will come out once she recovers conscience.
It is reported that Vindhya was very much upset with the rumours mills doing rounds about her breakup with her boyfriend. The actress was in depression from past three days.
Vindhya came to the limelight with her first film Manada Mareyali, produced by Mahesh Gowda and directed by Rajeev Nethra, in which she is paired opposite Shreeki with Ajai Rao playing an important role.
